TPA sings praises of SHIMMUTA winners

ATHLETES from Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) have been urged to continue working hard in all sport disciplines they play in order to promote their health and maximise production.

This was said on Thursday in Dar es Salaam by TPA Director General Erick Hamis when he received trophies his team won to enable the authority claim the  overall winner’s title in the just ended Parastatal and Non-Parastatal Games (SHIMMUTA) in Morogoro.

He said this year has been a record-breaking for the authority not only in the sports sector, but also in other sectors as well, a thing he said has been contributed by the teamwork and solidarity TPA staff members.

"These trophies are dedicated to all our staff members who were actively competed in the games because we are one family and we always work as a team.

"No victory can be achieved if teamwork do not exist as such; we should continue working in this manner and I am sure that in other upcoming SHIMMUTA events, we will achieve more than this," Hamis said.

He, therefore, challenged them to divert the same energy they used to claim the silverwares towards their day to day TPA responsibilities for the sake of improving production.

"Sports brings unity, remove stress and enhance one's stamina as such; I will continue to render the required support you deserve so that you can achieve more successes to this well established institution," said him.

He then seized the platform to alert big fan clubs in the country Simba and Young Africans that TPA football team is slowly coming to challenge them as far as the beautiful game in the world is concerned.

On her part, the manager of TPA Netball team, Celina Simon said SHIMMUTA games are very important as they accelerate cooperation among people of different calibers.

She then urged her fellow employees across the country to always be ready to partake in such events for their well-being while praising her netball side for the big achievements they made during this year's contest.
