I&M Bank sets foot in Arusha

ARUSHA Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr John Mongella has commended I&M Bank’s innovative services that will boost economic activities and meet the customers’ future demands.

He said banking services are very essential in national economic growth; this initiative is a clear sign that the sector is stable and continues to grow every day.

RC Mongella made the remarks during the launching a new branch of the bank in Arusha

Region, added that having the modern branch here will speed up business movements, tourism activities and most importantly revenue collection.

“I appreciate the bank for introducing select banking service for affluent client; it will boost business operations given the nature of the region that is full of business activities like tourism and mining,” he said.

He added that, I&M Bank customers in Arusha will continue enjoy convenience through the new relocated branch with state-of-the-art features including the select banking lounge for the affluent clients.

The Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Baseer Mohammed said the move is aimed at ensuring easy accessibility of bank’s services to the customers in the region.

“This initiative aimed at bringing convenience to our customers since the new branch is in city centre offering easy accessibility. This branch has state-of-the-art features including the select banking lounge that will serve the affluent clients, modern facilities, and safe deposit lockers,” he said.

The bank so far has eight branches located in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza,

Kilimanjaro and Arusha and would be expanding to more strategic locations.

The bank has been a pioneer in driving the digital strategy agenda in the country with introduction of unique products like WhatsApp Banking, Kamilisha (digital lending) and multicurrency VISA prepaid cards.

I&M assets grew by 11.2per cent on year-on-year basis recording 567bn/- at the end of October while net advances increased by 12.3 per cent and customer deposits by 19 per cent.

The Retail banking Manager, Ms Lilian Mtali, said the bureau de change at the new branch will open for long hours.

“Also the bureau de change will remain open for long hours to allow Arusha residents and tourists to get the service anytime,” Ms Mtali said.
