BIASHARA United will be seeking to maintain their unbeaten run in the CAF Confederation Cup (CAF CC) as they host Al Ahly Tripoli of Libya at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam tomorrow.
The match will be the first ever meeting between the two teams which are all looking forward to do well in the preliminary rounds in order to claim an opportunity of grabbing a ticket for tournament’s group stage.
Nicknamed 'Border Soldiers', the Mara- based giants have been undergoing serious training programs aimed at producing tangible results at home territory before the second leg to be held in Libya.
In his remarks on Wednesday, Biashara United's coach Patrick Odhiambo narrated that they are aware how their opponents play hence will use the game wisely to make sure that they get good results before the reverse match.
"We need to be positive during all the normal period of play in order to stand a good chance of winning the match since any lack of concentration will be disastrous to us," he said.
He then called on many supporters to descend at the giant Benjamin Mkapa venue to give them full backing as they fly high the national flag across the boundaries.
To reach this far, Odhiambo's charges overpowered FC Dikhil of Djibouti with an aggregate 3-0 victory as they won 1-0 in Djibouti before finishing them off with 2-0 in Dar es Salaam.
This gives them an upper hand to shine in tomorrow's match even though they still need to play with high spirit so as to seal essential home win prior to the next match.
However, their country's CAF CC colleagues Azam will be in action on Saturday as they host Pyramids of Egypt in a tough match at Azam Complex from 3:00pm.
They will also be looking to uphold their unbeaten status in the contest after defeating Horseed FC of Somalia courtesy of a 4-1 aggregate victory in the preliminary round with both matches played at Azam Complex arena.
However, the Chamazi-based outfits will continue to miss the services of their key striker Prince Dube who is still recovering after picking an injury during their preseason tour in Zambia.
They so far have a good home record in the CAF interclub games as they are yet to taste defeat in the progressing event hence they will approach the game with huge confidence.
