Miss East Africa 2021 to rock Dar

MISS East Africa 2021 will attract participants from 16 countries to Dar es Salaam, competing for prizes worth 146m/-.

According to organizers, Rena Events Ltd, the competition, slated for 26th November, will have participants from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and Ethiopia.

Other countries are Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Malawi, Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius.

President of the Miss East Africa Beauty Pageant, Rena Callist, has said a winner will walk away with a new brand Nissan X trail, worth 110m/- while first and second runners will scoop cash prizes of 11m/- and 5m/- respectively.

Ms Callist noted that there would also be other prizes for all participants, worth 20m/-.

The event is expected to be live on television and online platforms. Through the live coverage, Tanzania will benefit from marketing its tourist attractions, investment and trade opportunities as well as its culture,” she said.

Acting Executive Secretary of the National Arts Council, Mr Matiko Mniko, commended the organizers for re-introducing such a competition.

Mr Mniko assured stakeholders that the government will continue putting a friendly environment for investors in the sector.

He also assured the participants of this year’s Miss East Africa the competition that the council will ensure that their benefits, including awards, are well taken care of.
