Observe health experts advice on covid-19, it’s real

AS the government leads with public alert and education on how to keep off spread of Covid-19 pandemic, it is wise that every precaution preached is respected as people go about their daily chores.

The disease that is in its third wave is spreading throughout the globe, placing health systems as well as socio-economic activities under unprecedented stress-a battle that should not only be left to the government.

Take for instance, the World Health Organisation (WHO) last Sunday set the alarm bells ringing with a reminder that the world is at the very advanced stages of the third wave driven by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, first reported in India.

According to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), most African countries have experienced the third wave of the novel coronavirus pandemic as of July 13, 2021.

Last weekend, Vice-President Dr Philip Mpango made a strong call for Tanzanians to continue adhering to necessary precautions provided by health experts as a way to protect themselves from the deadly virus.

Dr Mpango who was on an official tour in Kigoma Region encouraged people to stick to prayers so that God can relieve the country from adverse effects brought by the virus.

It is from this backdrop that the government has insisted on the need for the people to continue working hard, while observing the precautionary measures against the pandemic.

We should not take for granted advice given by health experts on containing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

To remain safe, continue working hard to build the economy and every person should do his/her very best to stop its spread.

As the coronavirus is proceeding in waves, with countries succumbing and set to recover at different times, it is high time that the public supports the government efforts and measures to limit further damage of the virus to the economy.

We see boxing glorious era coming back

COMBINED efforts are needed to ...
