JKU Head Coach Omar Khamis “Matu” believes his squad will perform well in today’s Isles Premier League against Malindi despite missing two key players.

JKU face Malindi in the epic league match here at Mao Zedong stadium this afternoon.

The Coach named the defenders as Yakuob Amour who is nursing hamstring injury and Salum Suleiman who whose left toe has been operated.

He said the two players won’t be in the starting list, but warned his opponents that absence of the two players won’t affect the team’s performance. Adding, he insisted his players’ morale is high as they head for today’s encounter.

“We are determined to win the match and the absence of the key players won’t stop us from achieving the goal. It is very crucial encounter for us at this time when the league is heading to its final stages,” said the official.

Meanwhile, KVZ Coach Sheha Hamis said the race for the Isles league championship is still tough and unpredictable. KVZ who are placed second with 30 points, are among the title favourites, but that doesn’t make them certain of the championship throne, according to the coach.

He said the league could have been smooth, but it has to be postponed frequently due to the unavoidable circumstances such a deaths of the leaders.

“The going is very tough, and we the tough have to get going,” he said as he insisted they are ready to fight tooth and nail to win the title.
