BIHARAMULO Member of Parliament Engineer Ezra Chilewesa has appealed to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism to facilitate easy passage of tourists visiting Ibanda-Rumanyika and Burigi-Chato National Parks by opening a road through Kitwechembogo village.
He said by opening the new road, the tourists would spend less time to reach the National Parks, adding: “Currently tourist have to pass through Nyakahura route travelling for about 82 kilometres to reach Ibanda-Rumanyika National Park., yet passing through Kitwechembogo that is about 50 kms will definitely attract more tourists.”
Elaborating, the legislator informed the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources, Mary Masanja during her recent district tour that there are several species of wildlife likely to attract tourists in Ibanda-Rumanyika and Burigi-Chato National Parks, citing some as Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes and Leopards.
However, she asked Biharamulo district leaders to cooperate and work as a team with experts under the Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) and Tanzania National Parks (Tanapa) and find a lasting solution to some of the problems facing them.
