Prices of Dar Port petroleum imported products rise

MOTORISTS will this month dig deeper into their pockets following rise of both retail and wholesale prices of petroleum products imported into the country through the two main ports of Dar es Salaam and Tanga.

According to the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), the retail and wholesale prices of petroleum products increased in comparison to the preceding month as result of changes in the world oil market prices and the Bulk Procurement System (BPS) premiums.

The retail prices of Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene imported through Dar es Salaam port have increased by 94/-/Litre (equivalent to 4.99 per cent), 82/-/litre (equivalent to 4.47 per cent) and 94/-/Litre (equivalent to 5.34 per cent), respectively.

Likewise, compared to the publication of last month, wholesale prices of Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene have increased by 93.77/-/Litre (equivalent to 5.33 percent), 81.38/-litre (equivalent to 4.78 percent) and 94.16/-litre (equivalent to 5.74 percent), respectively.

The retail and wholesale prices of Petrol and Diesel in the Northern regions namely Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, and Manyara have increased compared to prices published on the previous month.

The retail prices of Petrol and Diesel have increased by 163-/litre (equivalent to 8.47 per cent) and 85/-/litre (equivalent to 4.64 per cent), respectively.

Similarly, compared to the publication of last month, wholesale prices of Petrol and Diesel have increased by 162.12/-litre which is equivalent to 9.05 per cent and 84.80/-litre (equivalent to 4.97 per cent), respectively.

Kerosene prices shall continue to be the same as those that were published on February because there was no new consignment of the product that was received through Tanga port.

The retail and wholesale prices of petroleum products for Southern regions including Mtwara, Lindi, and Ruvuma shall continue to be the same as those that were published on the previous month because there was no new consignment of the petroleum products that was received through Mtwara port.
