Government has assured investors in Singida region of adequate and stable electricity supply to enable them undertake their economic projects.
Speaking on Tuesday (February 23, 2021) at an inaugural meeting of Singida Regional Investment Guide, Deputy Energy minister Stephen Byabato said despite the availability of sufficient electricity, the government is in the final stages of developing transformers with a capacity of 100MW.
"We will move from 132 to 232 MW, and using the ten transformers currently in use in the whole region. We save more than 220MW from the national grid,” the minister said.
He said that so far Singida region uses 10.7MW but the electric cooling station has the capacity to provide 132MW.
