DUWASA to revamp seven defunct water boreholes

DODOMA Urban Water Supply and Sewage Authority (DUWASA) plans to revamp seven defunct water boreholes in Chamwino District to increase water availability to 95 percent from the current 63 percent of the residents.

DUWASA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Engineer David Palangyo, said here yesterday that only two out of nine water boreholes were in use to supply the precious liquid to 17,287 households in Chamwino, saying renovation of the seven boreholes will increase water sources in the district.

“About 26,484 households in Chamwino and some parts of Dodoma municipality will access water service after the project to revamp the seven water boreholes is complete,” said the DUWASA, CEO while briefing Water and Irrigation Minister, Prof. Makame Mbarawa.
