CPS embarks on affordable houses in Zanzibar

FUMBA Town Zanzibar, a programme run by Corporate Property Services (CPS) Tanzania’s independent property advisory committed to supporting their clients in maximising the value of real estate assets, has opened a new chapter in Zanzibar with new vigour to a tune of $17,900 for affordable houses and apartments, deemed to not only beatify the island, but also offer housing to residents.

Launching phase I of the programme in Dar es Salaam recently, CPS Director, Sebastian Dietzold said the buildings going at 35m/- and above each were ready made and spacious for members of the public to exploit as residential houses and offices, instead of one hassling for a plot and related bureaucracy to start up. He said the houses were built with modern architecture taking into consideration of sewage management, optic fibre, recreation centre, supermarket and schools for occupants’ children in the modern world. “Currently, we have built 4,000 permanent pieces and we can build 200 houses annually. This is to support the fifth phase government in its industrial drive to raise the country into a middle class economy, where its workers will also enjoy all benefits, which go along with modern houses and their offers,” added the CPS chief partner. He said for residential houses, one would be assured of a fully-furnished building ranging from a one bedroomed space to three, depending on one’s readiness and economic power to purchase a piece. Mr Dietzold further said the business that started two years ago was spread on 6,000 square metres and will also have a gymnastic hall for those willing to engage in physical exercises. For her part, CPS Sales Manager, Fatma Mussa said the initiative, first of its kind in Tanzania, would provide an opportunity to Tanzanians to own modern houses of their choice, or rent for 90 years with title deeds under the Zanzibar Investment Authority legislation.
