TASWA starts constitutional amendment process

THE Tanzania Sports Writers Association (TASWA) has embarked on a process to amend its constitution, as ordered by the National Sports Council (NSC).

TASWA Secretary General, Amir Mhando, said in a statement yesterday that a seven-member committee has been formed by NSC, tasked to come up with drafted constitutional amendments.

“We were required to make constitutional amendments before going into election and the NSC formed a special committee that will oversee the constitutional amendments process,” Mhando said.

He said the committee under its former Chairman Boniface Wambura, met in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday and resolved to let all TASWA members to air their views and proposals on areas to be improved in the existing document.

He said stakeholders could channel their views through email address; katibataswatz@ yahoo.com by November 13th this year.

Wambura, who is also the Chief executive Officer of the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB), heads the committee, while Mhando is the secretary and he is assisted by Gift Macha.

Other members of the committee are former TASWA Secretary General Abdul Mohammed, former association Assistant Treasurer, Nasongelya Kilyinga, Thabit Zacharia and Devotha Kihwelu.
