Nchimbi: Prioritise national interest
SINGIDA: THE ruling party CCM’s Secretary General, Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, has urged citizens to prioritise national unity and strongly reject the seeds of hatred being sown by some politicians with the intention of dividing the nation.
Dr Nchimbi emphasized the importance of national unity and solidarity in bringing stability to the country, stating that the existing peace and stability are foundations laid by the forefathers of this nation, benefiting all individuals.
He made the call yesterday while addressing citizens of Manyoni District, Singida Region during his official visit aimed at listening to and resolving citizens’ concerns, as well as assessing the implementation of the party’s 2020-2025 election manifesto.
The visit will also continue to the other four regions, with today’s visit in the Manyara Region and subsequent visits to Arusha and Kilimanjaro, concluding in Tanga Region on June 9, 2024.
“I urge everyone to reject any attempts to divide our nation. Anyone who convinces others with the intention of dividing our nation based on regions, religion, or tribalism should know that Tanzanians are angered by such behavior,” said Dr Nchimbi.
Dr.Nchimbi urged Tanzanians to embrace the Union that was established by the founders of our nation, whose goal and vision was to unite the whole of Africa.
“We have struggled to make Africa one country, and now we want to return to dividing Tanzania and preventing it from being united. Those who promote the division of our unity, which was built for decades, have ill motives,” he said.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, harmony, and solidarity to enhance the achievements of development goals that have been set since independence.
In another development, the CCM boss directed the Local Government Authorities (LGAs) to ensure that unemployed graduates are considered in the 10 percent loan schemes provided by the government in councils for women, youth, and people with disabilities.
He stated that the local governments should identify the graduates by forming groups based on their different areas of expertise to empower them to become selfemployed and benefit from the opportunities available in the Singida Region, such as the production of sunflower oil.
“Youth must focus on self-employment, but how can they do that? They can become self-employed if they are empowered by capital. Therefore, I call upon the local governments to recognize and prioritize all unemployed youth from various fields,” he said.
The Secretary General is accompanied by the party’s Publicity, Ideology, and Training Amos Makalla, as well as the CCM’s Secretary for Political Affairs and International Relations, Rabia Hamid.
