DAR ES SALAAM: Vice-Chancellor of Mzumbe University Dar es Salaam Campus, Prof William Mwegoha said the institution is currently conducting 17 research projects aimed at offering answers to socio-economic challenges.
“The researches are based on health, education, science and technology, business and entrepreneurship for young people, economics, law and human rights,” Prof Mwegoha stated at the university 22nd graduation in the city.
The ceremony, which was held at Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC), saw the university conferring degrees, diplomas and certificates.
He advised the graduates to use their professions for serving the nation.
“You are now our good ambassadors. You have been cooked well at the university and are ready to go and serve the nation in those professional areas,” said Prof Mwegoha.
Chairman of Mzumbe University Council Prof Saida Yahya-Othman also urged the graduates to embrace hard work.
Prof Yahya-Othman said that the knowledge they have gain will help them to identify ignorance and how to get rid of it including through getting right information and knowledge.
“Let us use the knowledge we have to grab employment opportunities, to increase knowledge by researching, reflecting and analysing, criticize when necessary while considering the respect and dignity of others and earn decent income without going against the law,” she said.
Prof Yahya-Othman advised the graduates to use the knowledge gained to create self-employments so that they could benefit from the available resources.
