Magufuli’s widow scoops award in DRC

WIDOW of Tanzania’s fifth phase President Dr John Magufuli, Mama Janeth Magufuli has scooped M. T. Kasalu, Femme D’Honneur Trophée award, thanks to her immense contributions to her country.

Mama Janeth received the award in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Friday at a gala organised in Kinshasa by the DRC’s Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage in collaboration with Lizadeel foundation.

She was recognised for contribution to her husband, Dr Magufuli.

Dr Magufuli passed away two years ago.

Apart from Mama Janet, Collette Senghor, the wife of first President of Senegal, Leopold Senghor, was recognised at the gala. Her husband played a pivotal role in the fight for the West African State independence.

Coretta King, wife of Martin Luther King, was also awarded. Luther King was one of the most prominent leaders in the civil rights movement in the USA.

Other women recognised for their husband’s positive impacts to the community were Suzanne Mukay (DRC) and Vivianne Dalo (DRC).
