LALJI foundation sponsors beekeeping Training in Bagamoyo

BAGAMOYO: LALJI FOUNDATION, in collaboration with the Chama Cha Wanawake Wajane Tanzania (CCWWT), has sponsored a beekeeping and beehive construction training program for women in Bagamoyo. More than 100 women from 10 regions participated in the training.
The program aimed to equip women and community groups with modern knowledge and skills in beekeeping, proper hive management, safe honey harvesting, and value addition techniques for bee products.
Speaking during the training, the Project Coordinator from LALJI FOUNDATION, Judith Kahatano, said the main objective of the initiative is to economically empower women through sustainable income-generating projects that can improve household earnings and contribute to overall community development.
She emphasized that the foundation will continue collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that the training produces long-term and sustainable results within the community.
On his part, Vincent Mnaya, a Beekeeping Trainer from the Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS), noted that beekeeping is a highly profitable venture both economically and environmentally. He encouraged beneficiaries to apply the knowledge gained and maintain proper management practices to achieve positive outcomes.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of CCWWT, Rabia Moyo, expressed gratitude to LALJI FOUNDATION for the support, stating that the training will help widows increase their income and improve the welfare of their families through beekeeping.
Beneficiaries of the training also conveyed their appreciation for the sponsorship, saying the skills they acquired will enable them to start or improve their beekeeping projects and enhance their living standards.
