Kibaha park to benefit over one million people

MORE than one million people are set to benefit from the Sino Tan Kibaha Industrial Park located at Kwala Area in Kibaha, Coast Region.

The Deputy General of Group Six International Mr Liu Xiaobo said in Kibaha over the weekend that the, the construction project would offer direct employment to more than 1,000 people and indirect employment to more than 100,000 people.

Mr Xiaobo said that in this project the company would build more than 200 industries in two phases, whereby phase one started in March this year at the cost 150 million US dollars.

He said industry project would produce food products, pharmaceuticals, and industrial materials such as shoe clothes, gas, transport equipment, and steel.

Mr Xiaobo will enable the country accelerate economic growth to reach sustainable Development goals.

He also said that the industries will maximize the utilization of Standard Gage Railway (SGR), Kwala Inland Port as well as the Dar es Salaam, Coast to Morogoro Highway

He said the project will help to reduce congestion of cargo and containers at Dar es salaam port and will benefit neighbouring landlinked countries such as Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Congo DRC, Zambia and Malawi which use Dar es salaam Port for their Imports and Exports.

He said investors from all countries are being invited to invest in Kibaha industrial park.

Group six international apart from being the main contractor of the project is also the major Chinese investor in Tanzania since 2006.

The company has carried out several projects in different regions in Tanzania including Dar es Salaam, the Coast region, Morogoro, Dodoma and in Zanzibar.

On his side, the contractor Eng Alexander Nchaholuli said they have already completed the construction of a tarmac road on the site with a length of 1.8 kilometers and 32 meters in width.

“Inside the project site, there shall be 4 lane road with 16 meters width and the other two lane roads of 32 meters,” he said.

He also said the project area covers 2,500 Acres, which has been divided into two parts, where the first part will be used for constructing an industrial infrastructure and the other part will be for residential houses.

He said Tanzania government is fully involved in the Sino Tan project has ensured the availability of water, electricity so that the project could contribute to country’s economy.
