JKT Queens in crucial CAF duel

ISMAILIA: JKT Queens return to action today in what promises to be a defining encounter of their CAF Women’s Champions League campaign, as they take on ASEC Mimosas at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt.

The Tanzanian representatives are determined to secure their first victory of the tournament and strengthen their chances of progressing from the highly competitive Group B.

Currently, ASEC Mimosas lead the group after a hardfought 1–0 win over defending champions TP Mazembe on Saturday.

JKT Queens, meanwhile, sit second with one point following their goalless draw against Gaborone United in their opening fixture.

Speaking ahead of the crucial clash, JKT Queens Head Coach, Messy Abdallah expressed confidence in his side’s readiness and belief.

“We are fully prepared to face our opponents. Our focus is clear, we want to win. A victory will not only boost our confidence but also keep our dream of reaching the semi-finals alive,” Abdallah stated.

“We respect ASEC Mimosas, but our concentration is on executing our game plan. We have worked on improving our finishing and quick transitions. Three points today would be a huge morale booster and an important step toward qualification.”

The coach also emphasised the team’s commitment to refining key aspects of their play.

“The technical team has carefully reviewed our last match and focused on improving decision-making in the final third, sharper finishing and faster transition play,” he added.

JKT Queens Communications Officer Masau Bwire echoed the coach’s sentiments, expressing full confidence in the squad’s physical and mental readiness for the challenge ahead.
