JKCI offers half- price medical checkup

DAR ES SALAAM: AS part of commemorating 62 years of independence the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) has offered a half-price medical check-up.

The half price checkup covers blood tests, heart screening and consultation which will be carried out by cardiologists and nutritionists.

The medical check-up commenced yesterday and it will be carried out every Sunday at the institute’s premises.

The statement issued over the weekend by the JKCI Cardiology Department Director, Tatizo Waane said the services will commence at 8:00am through 2:00 p.m.

He encouraged other patients who have not attended the checkups to do so the next Sunday.

Furthermore, he elaborated that the aim of reducing the price is to enable people to afford the services, especially low-income earners.

He also encouraged members of the public to carry out regular health checkups to help them establish their health status.

”Members of the public need to undergo regular heart check-ups to help them detect any complication and get earlier treatment.

He added that the service will be compatible with medical tourism in various neighbouring countries.

Recently, the institute announced a plan to set up a call centre for patients within and outside the country aiming to serve patients with heart diseases and other medical emergencies.
