The minister said the government is determined to equip the fire brigade with modern equipment to fight fire, citing procurement of fire horse pipe-fitted trucks, which can work even in unplanned settlements.

He further said the brigade conducts inspections and educates the public on fire fighting especially at the tourist hotel belt. Installation of fire security equipment like fire hydrants and fire extinguishers is of critical importance as well, he said.
