TANZANIA People’s Defence Forces (TPDF) Lugalo Golf Club of Dar es Salaam has invited to take part in the African National Golf Festival to be held next month in South Africa.
The African Nations Golf Cup event is scheduled to take place from August 23 to 26, this year, at South Africa’s leading courses in Fancourt, Oubaai, Pezula, Pinnacle Point; all in the famous Garden Route of South Africa.
The club’s golf captain, Japhet Masai said in the city on Friday that they received the invitation from the organisers early this week. He said golfers have begun preparations ahead of the prestigious event.
However, Masai said that the event organisers have requested his club to facilitate the participation of only 32 golfers. Masai said that his committee will meet the organisers’ representative in the city today to discuss the matter before sending the team.
According to the invitation, golfers will have a chance to play four rounds of golf before gala dinner and prize giving. “Golfers will have five days excitement while staying in South Africa at 5-star hotel at Oubaai, four golf shirts and daily shuttle service with costs of USD 965 per person sharing, while single room set to 66 US dollars.
“Premier Package will cost USD 1109 at sharing and 93 per night in single costs.” The captain added that organisers are in communication with appropriate regional airlines to offer special economy return airfare from Tanzania - Johannesburg – George and back to Tanzania.
