PREPARATIONS for the forthcoming ‘Beach Soccer Bonanza’ to be staged at Escape One grounds in Dar es Salaam on October 14th, this year, are progressing well, as registration of teams continues.
Addressing the media yesterday, Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Technical Director Salum Madadi, said the federation has seen it necessary to bring back the bonanza, which was slowly fading away and said their partnership with Shadaka Sports Management will facilitate to restore back the sports.
“We are now in the process to activate the exciting sport and all stakeholders who are willing to come forth and support us should not hesitate. We want to promote beach soccer, where teams can compete in formal and informal tournaments,” he said, adding that beach soccer league is expected to begin next year in January.
He further said TFF will give hundred per cent support to stakeholders and other groups of people, who would like to form beach soccer teams. In his words, a representative of Shadaka Sports Management, organisers of the bonanza, Edgar Kibwana said the event will be a good platform to enable young people excel in sports.
“Time has come for companies and stakeholders in the country to sponsor important events like beach soccer, which in the end will help to develop sports countrywide,” Kibwana said.
The prize less bonanza is expected to attract about 1012 teams and will start from 11:00am-4:00pm.
