MANYARA. Hanang: Tanzania National Parks has deployed 19 conservation rangers as a response to Hanang mudslide catastrophe that has so far claimed 69 lives and left dozens injured.
The conservation agency has also dispatched earthmoving vehicles to fast-track the clearance of Katesh Township which has been submerged in mud.
TANAPA Acting Commissioner for Conservation Musa Kuji said the conservation agency was compelled to step in, as a gesture of complementing government’s determination of restoring the flood ravaged township.
“TANAPA commiserates with all those who lost their lives and sustained injuries, but most importantly, we want to restore normalcy in Katesh”, the Acting Conservation Commissioner explained.
According to Mr Kuji, the Conservation agency has also offered 10mn/- as condolence to the bereaved families
