Friend political parties praise CCM for continued support, leadership in Africa
DODOMA: THE friend political parties expressed their gratitude yesterday to the ruling party-CCM for its continuous support and strong leadership in Tanzania as well as its role in helping African nations in their liberation struggles.
Speaking during the party’s Extraordinary General Meeting in Dodoma, the representatives from Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) of Zimbabwe, People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) of Angola, Frente de Libertacao Mocambique (FRELIMO) of Mozambique, African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa, National Council for the Defence of Democracy – Forces for the Defence of Democracy (CNDD FDD) of Burundi, Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) of Rwanda and National Resistance Movement (NRM) of Uganda said CCM has always been there to support whenever any party or government needs support.
A Representative of FRELIMO Chairman, Mr Jasinto Nyusi told the CCM’s extraordinary meeting that FRELIMO and the people of Mozambique were grateful for the government of Tanzania under CCM for being a good neighbour and supporting the people of Mozambique.
He said Mozambique was grateful for the delegation that represented Tanzania during the inauguration of the new President of Mozambique, Mr Daniel Chapo, on Wednesday.
Mr Nyusi noted that before the inauguration, Mozambique faced demonstrations that aimed at destabilising peace and weaken the development plans that have been set by the ruling party-FRELIMO.
He said FRELIMO is confident that CCM is going to emerge victorious in the coming general elections later this year.

A Representative from the Chairman of MPLA, who represented Angolan President João Lourenço said MPLA believes that the CCM’s Extraordinary General Meeting will strengthen the party and set plans for the upcoming general elections.
Moreover, Mr Reveriyano Ndikuriyo from CNDD FDD of Burundi said Tanzania and Burundi enjoy good relationship and cooperation, thanks to the strong leadership of CCM. According to him, Tanzania, under CCM, is a true ally of Burundi and the ruling CNDD FDD and that Burundi is proud of the good relationship.
“We are very proud of CCM and Tanzanians in general, you are our good and reliable friends, Burundi is very happy to have a good neighbour like Tanzania. CCM is our role model and we believe, the party is going to win in the coming general elections, Burundi wishes you well.”
He added. A representative of African National Congress (ANC) delivered the Party’s National Chairman, Gwede Mantashe’s message saying ANC members will always learn from CCM for its good leadership and its ability to bring people together.
“As Tanzania heads to general election, ANC is confident that, as it has been always, CCM will prevail,” he said.
He added that ANC and South Africa’s history can not be complete without mentioning Tanzania and CCM.
“We thank CCM for its leadership and strong commitment in supporting other political parties and countries. ANC is continuing to learn from CCM to become a better political party,” he said.
On his part, the Representative of ZANU- PF said President Emmerson Mnangagwa was grateful to CCM and the people of Tanzania for being in the frontline in supporting Zimbabwe and African countries in general.
“ZANU PF will never forget Tanzania and its people for providing camps during liberation struggles, names like Iringa, Mgagao, Morogoro, Chunya and many others will always remain in our memories. ZANU PF salutes the government of Tanzania for allocating land in Dodoma for the construction of an embassy building,”.
He added. According to him, in 2019, under the leadership of the late President John Magufuli, the Heads of State and Governments of the SADC declared the 25th of October as the day of Solidarity to lift the Illegal sanctions against Zimbabwe.
A representative of RPF from Rwanda said the party’s Chairman, President Paul Kagame commend the rulingCCM for a fruitful cooperation.
He said the two countries have for a long time enjoyed relationship and the visions of the leaders. The NRM representative said Uganda will always remain grateful to Tanzania and CCM for its contributions to the liberation of Uganda.
He said, Tanzania under the strong leadership of Mwalimu Nyerere, managed to sweep away the dictator Idd Amin at a time when the whole world was sending condemnation messages without taking actions.
“NRM was born in Tanzania, President Yowel Museven got tutorial guidance from the University of Dar es Salaam and from there he went back to liberate Uganda,” he explained.
He added that NRM was confident in CCM that it is going to emerge victorious in the coming general elections later this year.
The Extraordinary General Meeting elected Mr Stephen Wasira the new party’s Vice Chairman and received the report on the party’s activities from 2022 to 2025 and reviewed the implementation of the 2020- 2025 Election Manifesto.
