Former Simba boss urges patience in club

Former Simba chairman Ismail Rage

FORMER Simba chairman Ismail Rage has called upon the club’s fraternity to exercise patience and give enough time to the technical bench saying that is vital in creating a competitive team.

In his recent interview, Rage insisted that Simba members and fans should be calm before they start seeing excellent performances from their team.

“Before long, the coach is going to get his first XI…as you know, the team pitched camp in Turkey where players arrived at different intervals and have not played together for a long time.

“I believe that the more they play together, the faster the team chemistry is built. The good thing is that despite having that challenge, they worked hard to win the 2023 Community Shield title,” Rage said.

Adding, he said most Simba players have not yet reached their peak and in two or three months’ time, everything will be well in their squad.

Moreover, he acknowledged the performance of young goalkeeper Ally Salim saying he has a bright future and that historically, Simba always produce competitive goalies.

He then forecasted a very competitive Premier League mission this season saying the notion of one team claiming the title prematurely before the season ends will not be seen.

Meanwhile, Simba have already arrived in Morogoro ahead of their league opener against Mtibwa Sugar at Manungu Complex tomorrow in a solo fixture of the day.

The game comes a few days after the team’s  Community Shield victory, hence players are still in a fresh combat mood ready to claim the first maximum points of the campaign.

“Of course, we are aware that this is going to be a tough match versus Mtibwa Sugar who always play well on their turf but we are here to battle for essential points and kickstart the new season on the gas pedal,” said Simba’s Media and Communication Manager, Ahmed Ally.

Last season, the Msimbazi Street  Reds stamped a comfortable 3-0 win over Mtibwa Sugar at Manungu Complex with Jean Baleke bagging a hat-trick.

On his part, Mtibwa Sugar’s Information Officer, Thobias Kifaru revealed that this time, they are not going to make it easy for Simba to walk away with a victory insisting that they are well drilled to engage them.
