THE Police Force in Singida Region has arrested five people suspected to have committed murder and excavating graves in Manyoni District.
The latest arrest comes in less than a month since police in the region arrested and brought to court seven people charged with murder, taking some of the deceased organs and excavating graves on what is believed to be superstitious beliefs.
Singida Regional Police Commander (RPC), Stella Mutabihirwa named those arrested as Agustino Kenan (34), Emmanuel Joseph (44), Emmanuel Ephaim (47), Jeremiah Nyungu Alexander (50) and Abdallah Mnyamisi (31), who is a traditional healer, all residents of Majengo area in Manyoni District.
“We have arrested the five people on suspicions of being involved in a murder incident that occurred on February 9th this year at Mwembeni Primary School area,” said ACP Mutabihirwa.
She further said that one of the suspects was allegedly involved in the murder incident of March 29th this year, in which a 21-year-old young man was killed near the Manyoni Bus Stand and his body concealed at a nearby rice farm.
“After thorough police investigations, we managed to find various tools believed to be used by the suspects to commit the offence,” she said.
