Dr Samia issues stern warning to people seeking to disrupt peace

ZANZIBAR: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has issued a stern warning to those attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation, urging them to stop immediately.

She emphasized that differences of opinion are normal but should never divide the country or undermine its stability.

President Samia made the remarks today, January 9, 2025, during the inauguration of the Jaz Elite Aurora Hotel located in Michamvi, South Unguja, Zanzibar.

She noted that peace, security, and national stability are major attractions for investors.

She added that while speaking with the hotel investor, the investor revealed that he had already acquired land for construction but had not yet begun building, and also expressed interest in acquiring additional land for further investment.

“This is just one investor, but there are many others of this kind. They are drawn to our country because of the safety, peace, and stability we enjoy. Now, to all those being influenced to disturb our nation’s peace, I urge you to stop immediately. Stop at once. When peace is disrupted, it does not discriminate, and it will be for us on the other side to restore it in Dar es Salaam,” said President Samia.

She further stressed, “Differences of opinion exist, but they must not lead us to destroy the peace of our country. When peace is broken, the consequences affect everyone.”

President Samia highlighted that safeguarding national peace and stability is a responsibility for every Tanzanian, as it forms the foundation for development and attracts investment.
