Dr Mwinyi forms a commission to assess the compensation of people affected by the government projects

ZANZIBAR: The President of Zanzibar, Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has established a commission to review and assess compensation matters following the implementation of the Isles’ government projects in various areas of Unguja and Pemba.
The commission, consisting of eight members, will be responsible for reviewing compensation issues and the arising challenges.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Zanzibar’s Deputy Director of Presidential Communication, the commission will also be responsible for advising the government to take appropriate measures.
The statement further mentioned the commission members as the retired public servant and expert in valuation matters, Salum Othman Simba, a Lawyer at the Office of the President, State House, Mussa Kombo Mrisho, an Engineer at the Zanzibar Airports Authority, Khamis Muhidin Bakari, and the Registrar at the Zanzibar Contractors Registration Board, Fauzia Sindi Hassan.

Other members are the Information and Communication Technology specialist at the Office of the President, State House, Sabrina Yusuf Shaaban, Social sciences specialist at the Zanzibar Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Authority, Mwanaidi Sulaimani Idi, Finance and investment expert from the private sector, Ramadhan Nassor Mwinyi, and the Public administration expert from the private sector, Mzee Abdallah Khatib.
Additionally, the statement called on all citizens to cooperate with the commission when it visits the respective areas, to provide accurate information related to the tasks assigned to it.
