Dodoma traders invited to attend Trade Expo in Indonesia

DODOMA: INDONESIA’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Tri Yogo Jatmiko has invited Dodoma based traders to participate in the forthcoming 40th Trade Indonesia Expo Indonesia in order to tap business opportunities.
The five-day event is slated on October 15 to 19, this year and is expected to attract international buyers, showcasing Indonesia’s competitive products and fostering business growth.
The diplomat welcomed local traders to attend the annual event recently when he met with the business community at the Regional Commissioner’s Office conference hall in the Capital City as he described the upcoming 40th Trade Indonesia Expo Indonesia as a platform to unveil various business opportunities available in the Asian country.
“As an ambassador, my duty is to create a conducive environment for business and facilitate trade agreements between the two sides in areas such as agriculture, education, health, pharmaceuticals and hospitals,” said Ambassador Jatmiko.
Representing the Dodoma Regional Commissioner, Rosemary Senyamule, the Dodoma District Commissioner, Alhaj Jabir Mussa Shekimweri urged traders to seize and implement the opportunities shared by the Ambassador, taking into account their respective business sectors.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Dodoma Regional Business Council, Vivian Komu expressed gratitude to the government for its continued efforts to champion international business growth for local entrepreneurs.
Komu pledged that members of Dodoma business community will collaborate and strategise on how they are going to capitalise on the opportunities presented to them by Indonesia.
Recently, Tanzania launched an initiative to improve its fertiliser production capabilities through a partnership with PT ESSA Industries Indonesia Tbk and the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC).
The two organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth 1.4bn/- US dollars.
The project envisions establishing a plant capable of producing one million tons of fertiliser annually to meet the country’s growing demand and reduce reliance on imports.
The Tanzania Fertiliser Company (TFC) Business Director, Mr Lameck Mborega said that the partnership will be mutually beneficial, as the government will no longer need to use foreign currency to import fertiliser
