NYAMAGANA District Commissioner, Ms Amina Makilagi has hailed the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) for organising training to equip the staff working in the quality and investigation laboratories on science of measurement to enhance efficiency in day to day obligations.
“The training is offering you important skills to enhance efficiency in the laboratory dealing with quality and investigation to make sure that they provide correct results,” she said at the opening of the training on behalf of the Mwanza Regional Commissioner Adam Malima.
“The training for the laboratory experts will be an incentive and catalyst to enhancing efficiency in the laboratories to dealing with quality and investigation measurements provide correct tests,” she said.
She said Mwanza is a strategic region and there are ongoing projects including those in the construction and health sectors and thus after the training the experts will be able to provide correct laboratory tests.
On his part, the TBS Director General, Athuman Ngenya said with the training to the laboratory experts will enhance their capacity in handling metrology measurements and testing of the quality of commodities.
Some of the participants are the Head of Weighing Bridge from Tanzania Roads Agency (TanRoads), Mr Joseph Kalala and representative from SGS Tanzania, Suma Mwakyembe said the training will improve the way they work in their institutions.
