Dar ready for next-level Simba Day

SIMBA week heads to brighter climax with a number of activities set to make this year’s event a next level innovation.

The eagerly awaited big event will officially climax this Sunday at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in  the city.

An exciting package set to beautify the big day for the club is its anthem from Ally Kiba. The music track he prepared specifically for Simba Day will be performed, and fans will sing and dance it at the full- packed Dar es Salaam arena.

‘Daily News’ noted that Ally Kiba’s music track “Mnyama” had hit 363,620 views in just 19 hours picking sixth place on music trending on YouTube.

The video was released shortly after Ally Kiba was introduced to the club to participate in the club’s day. Announcing his arrival, he thanked the club’s fans for the warm reception, saying, “I am grateful for the warm welcome.”

A jersey bearing Ally Kiba’s name, “King Kiba,” was presented to him at his reception by the club’s CEO Imani Kajula.

It is expected to be an unforgettable event. Simba Day will be celebrated with utter enthusiasm and joy by all fans. This is sure to be a memorable occasion for the club and its supporters. The club has already confirmed that tickets are sold out with 48 hours left for the big day.

Other than the entertainment packages from the number of artists who will parade at such events, during the Simba Week climax, the 2023/2024 squad will line up in front of the club fans including the newly signed before they face Zambia Premier League champions, Power Dynamos, in an international friendly match.

The club began celebrating earlier with a jersey auction with the names of prominent figures. Among the big names jerseys auctioned was Head of State Samia Suluhu Hassan’s which was sold for 10m/-.

A jersey with Zanzibar President Hussein Mwinyi sold at 5m/-, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa sold at 4m/-, Vice-President Phillip Mpango 3m/-, Speaker of Parliament Tulia Akson jersey at 2.5m/- and that of Mohammed Dewji was auctioned at 2m/- while the red bag that carried the jerseys to the roof of Mount Kilimanjaro auctioned at  2.5m/- and in total, they generated 29m/-.

According to Kajula, the proceeds will be allocated towards the construction of maternity wards at Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar es Salaam and Mnazi Mmoja Hospital in Zanzibar.
