CRDB reiterates support to nurture finance experts

CRDB Bank has said that it will cooperate with Moshi Cooperative University (MoCU) in Kilimanjaro Region to ensure it continues to nurture skilled graduates in the fields of finance and cooperative sectors.

The Bank’s Group’s Director of Procurement Mr Pendason Philemon, said MoCU has been producing professionals in the fields of finance and cooperative sectors who are now working with different institutions inside and outside the country.

CRDB as one of the stakeholders in these two sectors will to continue cooperating with MoCU to ensure that the process of producing new experts in those fields continues.

Mr Philemon made the remarks during the event to award students who did well in the fields of education, leadership and sports held at the university recently.

He said giving awards is a good idea because the awardees will act as role models to inspire other students to do better in their studies.

“It is important to recognise the efforts made by these students because it will motivate others to study hard,” he said.

Mr Philemon who represented the CRDB Bank’s Managing Director Mr Abdulmajid Nsekela urged the awardees to maintain integrity in work areas, a move that will make them get respect from the community.

Speaking during the event, the MoCU Vice Chancellor Prof Alfred Sife said the event was part of the college’s programmes aimed at recognizing students who excelled in academics, leadership and sports.

“We recognise those who did well in the areas of academics, leadership and sports, the event was one of the MoCU’s three events in this year’s graduation ceremony which is the institution’s 8th graduation ceremony,” he said.

Earlier, MoCU’s Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof John Safari said the awardees deserved to be praised after showing their determination on their assignments while pursuing their studies at the university.

Commenting on the future plans of the college in general Prof Safari said they include adding more than 10 new learning programmes to provide skills, especially in the fields of cooperation and finance.

“These new programmes will produce more experts in different fields as well as increase the number of students admitted by the institution from the current more than 9,000 to more than 12,000 students by the year 2026,” he noted.
