CRDB opens a branch at Namanga to boost cross-border trade

ARUSHA: ARUSHA Regional Commissioner CPA Amos  Makalla, who officially inaugurated the CRDB Bank Namanga Branch in Longido District, said the branch will serve as a crucial link for cross-border trade, foster business growth, and strengthen the regional economy—positioning Namanga as a hub for trade, agriculture, and investment.

“The government has continued to invest in ICT infrastructure, including strengthening the National ICT Broadband Backbone and creating a conducive environment for innovation such as digital banking services, mobile money solutions, online banking, and investment products like Green Bond, Samia Infrastructure Bond, and SUKUK, all of which CRDB Bank has been at the forefront in introducing,” CPA Makalla was quoted saying.

He added that these financial services are an essential driver of citizens’ welfare and national development, enabling people to save safely, access loans to expand businesses and economic activities, and contribute to building the economy while reducing poverty.

 He urged the bank to integrate its services with the tourism sector by extending operations to areas frequently visited by tourists and international guests arriving in Arusha.

Presenting details of the Bank to the Regional Commissioner, CRDB Bank’s Director for Small and Medium Enterprises, Mr. Bonaventura Paul, said the Bank will continue being a strategic development partner for Arusha Region. He noted that with the opening of the Namanga Branch, CRDB now operates 14 branches out of its 268 nationwide, alongside 1,801 agents in the Arusha Region—120 of them based in Longido District.

On his part, CRDB Bank’s Northern Zone Manager, Mr. Cosmas Saddat, expressed gratitude to President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan for creating a favorable business climate for financial institutions in the country and for the strong government support extended to them.

 He assured the people of Namanga and Longido District that, with the opening of the new branch, all banking services are now available 100 percent locally—unlike before when access was limited.
