Christians urged to pray for moral decay

THE Bishop with the Catholic Diocese of Moshi, in the Kilimanjaro Region, His Eminence Ludovick Joseph Minde has urged Christians and Tanzanians in general to use the Easter festival to pray to God so that He saves the nation from moral erosion that is currently affecting the world.

Bishop Minde made the remarks yesterday (Friday) during the Praise Service as part of the Good Friday Service, which was held at Christ the King Cathedral, in Moshi.

“Recently the world has suffered from  bad behavior that demeans the good concept of creation, including the Holy Sacrament of marriage, this is not something to close our eyes to, let us ask God to remove it from our society; let’s return to God through prayers”, he said.

Bishop Minde said that the tragedy was a very big war going on in the world especially in the social media whereby he warned that the world will not be saved if people without good morals will entertain same-sex relationships .

“Ethics that distort the good concept of marriage, including those that force the upbringing of children adopted by same-sex parents are intolerable dirt that requires high-level of prayers especially in this period when we remember the suffering of Jesus Christ and his resurrection on Easter Sunday”, he said.

Quoting part of the Bible Lesson from the book of Genesis Chapter 1:31, which said And God looked upon all that he made, and indeed, it was very good; Bishop Minde said, “Through this quotation God finished the work of creation and then said everything is good, now where does this we hear come from? Let me tell you it is pure dirt”.

He added, “Let’s ask God to save us from this evil and also enlighten those who entertain it so that they can repel and abandon it”.

In addition, Bishop Minde urged the worshipers and Tanzanians to  use the  Easter festival  to pray to God to give the country enough rains that are not harmful so that the nation can have enough harvests this year.

During the service, Bishop Minde launched the Diocese’s Novena Prayers which will continue through April 15, this year, which he said is intended to pray God to save the country from those bad morals and also to grant the country enough rain so that the country could be subject to good harvests this year.
