Chinese investor brings new building product to Tanzania

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA’s favourable investment climate continues to attract both local and international investors, with global construction giant, Huaxin Group unveiling a new building product called Newta, through its subsidiary Maweni Limestone.
Speaking during the launch event, Huaxin Group Vice President, Wang Jiajun, said the enabling environment created by the Tanzanian government has encouraged the company to expand its investment portfolio and introduce new products aimed at improving the construction sector in the country.
“The government is doing everything possible to ensure that the business and investment community operates in a supportive environment. This is clearly demonstrated by our company’s decision to invest here, being one of the largest cement producers in the world,” said Jiajun.

The newly launched product, Newta, is designed for wall coating before painting, and is expected to enhance quality in construction projects, especially as Tanzania continues to implement numerous development initiatives that require modern, high-quality building materials.
Jiajun noted that the product’s development followed extensive research, which identified a strong demand for such a product in the Tanzanian market. He added that Newta is user-friendly, even for inexperienced construction workers, and delivers high-performance results for modern building standards.
