ZANZIBAR: CHINA has supported Zanzibar government procure modern Public Address (PA) system to be used at the upcoming celebrations of the 60th Revolution Anniversary.
Mr Zhang Zhisheng- Consul General of China in Zanzibar handed over a bank cheque worth 755m/- to the Isles State Minister- Office of the Second Vice President (Policy, Coordination, and House of Representatives) Mr Hamza Hassan Juma, for the PA.
“We will continue supporting Zanzibar to achieve its development goals. We have decided to support the preparations for Mapinduzi Day celebrations by improving the PA system as requested by the Ministry,” the diplomat said.
For his part, Mr Juma thanked China through the Consul general, for the timely support, “It is a fact that our national events bureau lacks PA system, sometimes we have to hire from the private companies. We are happy that soon we will have our own modern PA system to be used in future ceremonies.”
Public Address System (PA system) is an electronic sound amplification and distribution system with a microphone, amplifier and loudspeakers, used to allow a person to address a large public, for example for announcements of movements at large and noisy air and rail terminals.
