Chagga festival to storm Dar es Salaam

DAR ES SALAAM: THE third phase of the Chagga Day Festival, aimed at promoting the Chagga tradition and culture is expected to take place tomorrow in Dar es Salaam.

Over 800 people from the Chagga tribe are expected to participate during the night. The information was provided by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Urassa Entertainment Empire, Declaire Urassa in Dar es Salaam.

“The festival is open to all tribes and is not tied to religious, political, or tribal issues. Also, other tribes are welcome to join,” the CEO emphasised that the festival is an opportunity for people of all tribes to learn about the Chagga culture and traditions.

He also mentioned that the festival aims to foster unity and solidarity among the Chagga people.

Additionally, various traditional foods including kitawa, kibulu, kitalolo, ngararimo, and ndafu will be prepared by skilled chefs.

Parents are encouraged to take their children to the event so that they could observe and learn how to cook these traditional recipes.
