Chadema: “Mwinyi’s story completed”

TANZANIA: Chama Cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA) has joined Tanzanians in mourning the passing of former President Ali Hussein Mwinyi, who passed away in Dar es Salaam on Thursday evening.

In a press statement issued by the opposition party on Friday, it was stated that Mwinyi will be remembered for his free-market policy, which aligns with CHADEMA’s ideology in economic growth and development stimulation.

CHADEMA’s Deputy Secretary-General in Zanzibar, Salum Mwalim, made the statement on Friday, adding that they have been utilizing Mr. Mwinyi’s policies to promote the economy and stimulate development in the country.

“As he once said when he [Ali Hussein Mwinyi] was alive, ‘life is a story,’ he has completed the story of his life. He will be remembered for his wisdom, prudence, responsibility, and dedication throughout his time as the President of Tanzania and even before…,” reads part of the statement.

Moreover, the party extended their condolences to President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Zanzibar’s President Hussein Ali Mwinyi, and other close family members, friends, and relatives.

Additionally, the statement noted that Freeman Mbowe, their national chairman, will lead Chadema’s delegation in the burial ceremony, which is being arranged in Zanzibar.
