CCCC seeks media partnership in Tanzania’s flagship projects

DAR ES SALAAM: The China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) Tanzania Branch has announced that local media will play a crucial role during the implementation of the government’s strategic projects in 2025.
Among the major projects to be undertaken by the Chinese company in 2025 are the Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) infrastructure and the Jangwani Bridge.
Outlining CCCC’s plans for 2025 in Dar es Salaam on Monday, CCCC Tanzania Assistant Manager Li Yuliang emphasized the company’s vision of building stronger ties with the media while driving meaningful contributions to Tanzania’s development.
Li highlighted the importance of media in the company’s achievements, attributing CCCC’s milestones to consistent and accurate reporting by media professionals.
He stated that the company plans to strengthen these relationships through joint activities and by diversifying promotional content, leveraging digital platforms and social media to explore new and creative formats.
“Through this core vision, we not only hope to deepen our friendship with the media but also to build a solid foundation for publicity efforts in 2025,” Li stated.
The company aims to collaborate with media professionals to create targeted content, including documentaries, special reports, and books, to present more engaging narratives of its projects and their impact. Li added that CCCC is committed to fostering innovation and mutual understanding through these initiatives.
On his part, Mr Yang Runze, Chinese Office Assistant, said that in 2025, journalists would be invited to visit major projects implemented by CCCC, such as the Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) infrastructure, the Jangwani Bridge, and other projects in Masasi and Arusha.
These visits, according to him, will provide firsthand insights into the company’s engineering technologies and project execution, enabling more in-depth and accurate reporting.
With over 15 years of active operations in Tanzania, CCCC has participated in the construction of major projects, undertaking 16 so far. These include the upgrading of the Mbeya-Chunya-Makongolosi and Lwanjilo-Chunya Section roads to Bitumen Standard (36 km in 2009 in Mbeya Region), the upgrading of the Mwigumbi-Bariadi-Lamadi Road to Bitumen Standard (71.8 km in 2009 in Mwanza Region), and the upgrading of the Nzega-Tabora Road (58.8 km in 2010).
Other notable projects include Phase 4 of the Dar es Salaam BRT infrastructure, the Lot 3 housing construction project in Dar es Salaam (2023), and the construction of the Jangwani Bridge and associated works (Tender No. AE/0001/2022-23/HQ/W/56) in Dar es Salaam.
The company has been a key player in Tanzania’s infrastructure development, and its new initiatives aim to further enhance its impact while promoting cross-cultural exchange.
