BOA rolls out financial inclusion campaign

DAR ES SALAAM: BANK of Africa–Tanzania has launched a three-month mobile banking campaign, MIAMALA NI FURSA— Swahili for “Transactions are Opportunities”—to promote digital services and financial inclusion.
The initiative, which runs for three months from on Wednesday, rewards customers for using the bank’s mobile platform, B-Mobile, with weekly and grand prizes.
BOA Chief Digital Officer, Mr Lameck Mushi said customers now stand a chance to win real prizes simply by doing what they already do—banking from their phones.
“We wanted to go beyond traditional banking,” said Mr Mushi.

Each week, five customers will win 50,000/-, while one grand prize winner will take home 5.0m/- at the campaign’s end. To enter, users must complete three Bank-to-Wallet transfers and at least one additional transaction such as utility or airtime payment via B-Mobile.
The Bank Head of Retail Banking, Mr Asupya Nalingigwa, said the campaign aligns with customers’ daily financial habits.
“Whether you’re paying school fees or sending money, those actions can now put money back in your pocket,” Mr Nalingigwa said.
He added that staff across all branches are ready to assist, and a technical team has been deployed to support users.
BOA Tanzania Head of Marketing, Ms Nandi Mwiyombella, said: “We’re promoting financial empowerment by making mobile banking fun, easy, and beneficial.”
