Baby market exhibition to empower children

DAR ES SALAAM: THE upcoming Baby Market Exhibition aims to instill a culture of grooming children as heirs to family businesses and visions, said Amaris Mwako, Director of Maestro Africa Solutions.
The Exhibition is organised by Maestro Africa Solutions in collaboration with Peak Performance Company, Rehoboth Organisation and The Ark Africa. It will take place next Saturday in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking during the launch of the iCare Children campaign over the weekend, Ms Mwako said: “We believe it is important to sow good seeds early by preparing children to be heirs to their families’ projects, businesses and visions.”
She said many businesses collapse after the death of their founders due to a lack of preparation for the next generation.
“We say it’s not necessary for every generation to start afresh. We can raise generations that build on what has been established,” she said.

She added that, unlike in some countries where parents groom children to inherit businesses, many African families lose their legacy after the parents pass on.
“We want to nurture a culture of preparing children to take over while parents are still alive so businesses can continue,” she said.
She noted that the event will be a one-stop centre for children-related products, services and information from companies, child welfare institutions and schools.
“These exhibitions are not ordinary they’re platforms for children to showcase talents, sell products they’ve made and act as marketing agents for their parents’ projects,” she said.
Banks and institutions have been invited to present services that support families and child development.
The event will also feature games, talent shows, health and nutrition services and alternative education options.
