THE Sauti za Busara Music Festival organisers have opened doors for artists to register for the 2024 edition and showcase their talent, culture and passion for music.
As preference is given to music from the East African region; original sounds with cultural identity connected to Africa; young and emerging talents; women artists or groups led by women; music with positive messages and relevant to society; performers with energy and excitement on stage, and music performed ‘100 per cent live!’.
According to the Busara promotions, all artists interested in participating in Sauti za Busara 2024 must complete an online application form available at the official website, www.busaramusic.org, and submit it before midnight July 31st this year.
Through the website, the application and submission should include the required material, such as the artist’s biography, latest audio releases, live performance video, promotional photos and links to the artist’s website or social media pages.
The festival selection committee will thoroughly review all applications in August and notify the status of the selected artists before September 2023.
When required, all selected artists are offered a modest honorarium, local transport and accommodation in Zanzibar, per diems and visa costs.
In October 2023, organisers will announce the confirmed line-up for Sauti za Busara 2024.
The 21st festival will take place from February 9th to 11th, 2024, in the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe), with live performances of unique and diverse African music styles, collaborations, technical workshops, networking for professionals and more.
Musical talents are abundant across the continent, yet to be discovered.
Sauti za Busara has continued to offer African artists platforms to exchange and share their stories, culture and music whilst uniting people from across the world in celebration.
With a rich experience of 20 years to build from, the next edition of Sauti za Busara is sure to produce a new, elevated, yet familiarly breath-taking celebration.
The organisers have further confirmed and thanked the main sponsor, Fumba Town – a project by CPS for their continued support of the musical and cultural celebration that has ignited Stone Town for the past twenty years and looks set to continue radiating its shine from Zanzibar to across Africa and beyond.
