ALAF female employees donate to Temeke Hospital ahead of International Women’s Day

DAR ES SALAAM: As the world gears for the International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025, ALAF Limited Women employees have donated various essential materials to the mother and child ward at Temeke Referral Hospital.
Speaking after the donation exercise, the ALAF Limited External Affairs Manager, Hawa Bayumi said the initiative was from all women employees who contributed from their own pockets towards the initiative and took time to socialize with some of the patients at the maternity ward.
“This initiative, which is part of the lead-up to March 8th, aligns with President Mama Samia Suluhu Hassan’s efforts to provide a clean and safe environment for mothers and children at the hospital, promoting their health and well-being,” she underscored.
She further noted that the donation directly reflects ALAF women employees’ commitment to the company’s core values of care and partnership.
According to Ms Hawa, this gesture aligns with the 2025 International Women’s Day theme, “Accelerate Action,” highlighting the importance of swift and impactful actions to support women’s health, safety, and empowerment.
On his part, the ALAF Limited Human Resource Manager, Jumbe Onjero lauded the women employees for being mindful of their fellow women who require the support to ensure safe deliveries.
“By providing these crucial hygiene materials, ALAF WOMEN employees aim to make a meaningful and tangible impact in the community, celebrating the strength and resilience of women,” said the HR Manager.
He said through this and other initiatives, ALAF WOMEN employees take an active role in contributing to the global movement for women’s advancement.
Meanwhile, the Temeke Refferal Hospital Social Welfare Officer, Grace Samson Wella, thanked ALAF women employees for the generosity and said the donation will go a long way is assisting women during delivery especially those that are financially constrained to afford these materials.
“We call on other women out there to emulate what AFAL women employees have done and am sure we will save a lot of lives out there,” she noted.
