AGRA wins international peace and security award for excellence in food security advocacy

DAR ES SALAAM: AGRA, through its Tanzania office, has been honored with the International Peace and Security Award (IPSA) in the category of Excellence in Food Security Advocacy.
The award, presented by the African Leadership Initiatives for Impact (ALII), recognizes individuals and institutions making outstanding contributions to peacebuilding, social cohesion, and sustainable development.
The award ceremony concluded the 2nd National Forum on Youth, Peace, and Security Agenda, which brought together over 1,000 youth leaders, peace advocates, and development stakeholders from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and beyond, at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.
Through the recognition, AGRA has been acknowledged as a leading partner in advancing food security and contributing to peace and social cohesion through agricultural development.
AGRA has become an integral part of Tanzania’s agricultural journey, working closely with government, private sector, and development partners to strengthen food security and rural livelihoods.
Currently, AGRA is spearheading the YEFFA initiative, a flagship program designed to empower young people particularly young women—to take an active role in the agriculture value chain, from production to markets.
Through this effort, AGRA is positioning youth at the center of building a resilient and prosperous food system for Tanzania’s future.
