Africa, Turkey reap fortunes from the Business-Economic forum

ISTANBUL: MAKING strategies to strengthen economic cooperation heralded the 5th Turkey-Africa Business and Economic Forum held in the Turkish city of Istanbul, which also targets to promote the development of trade, investment, construction, energy, and technology.
Tanzana secured the opportunity to participate in the 5th Turkey-Africa Business and Economic Forum, which was officially opened on October 16, 2025, by Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey.
The forum was attended by ministers, senior government officials, ambassadors, and private sector business people.
The Tanzanian delegation was led by Mr. Asangye Bangu, the Executive Director of the Warehouse Receipt Regulatory Board (WRRB), who represented the Minister of Industry and Trade at this important meeting.

The forum concludes today, with discussions focusing on strategies to strengthen economic cooperation, promote the development of various sectors, including trade, investment, agriculture, health, construction, energy, technology, and infrastructure for the benefit of both African countries and Turkey.
Additionally, the Tanzanian delegation is expected to hold side meetings with various stakeholders to attract investors, encourage investment in strategic projects within the country, promote private sector participation, and discuss new cooperation opportunities aimed at increasing competitiveness and boosting Tanzania’s economy.
This is a significant opportunity for Tanzania to strengthen trade and economic relations with Turkey, aiming to bring sustainable development to the country and the continent as a whole.
