Morogoro RC calls for strategic investment areas to boost tourism, economic growth

MOROGORO: MOROGORO Regional Commissioner, Mr Adam Malima has directed the District Executive Directors in the region near national parks to designate special areas that are conflict-free and safe for investment.

Mr Malima issued the directive here yesterday, during the regional investor’s forum organised by Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC).

“Major investors are attracted by good infrastructure such as roads, airports and the security of the areas concerned, a situation that can easily stimulate the construction of modern hotels for tourists,” he said He added:

“Currently, the region has seen an increase in tourists due to the presence of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), airport and roads, which has boosted foreign exchange earnings and contributed to the region’s economic growth.”

The RC also urged investors in the Morogoro Region to be creative and produce highquality products, services and crops because the region has many resources that meet the significant investment needs.
