TCB, AFCA take Tanzania Coffee Competition global

KILIMANJARO: THE Tanzania Coffee Board (TCB) and the African Fine Coffee Association (AFCA) have elevated the Tanzania Fine Coffees Competition to the global stage, aiming to boost the country’s coffee presence internationally.
TCB Acting Director General, Mr Kajiru Kisenge, revealed this recently during the Tanzania Fine Coffees Competition in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region.
“These competitions have traditionally been national, but we’ve now elevated them to an international level by involving coffee stakeholders from other countries to further promote Tanzanian coffee and its farmers globally,” he said.
He added, “Hosting this competition internationally will allow Tanzanian coffee farmers to compete with their global counterparts, gaining recognition for both themselves and the quality coffee they produce. International participants will also have the chance to connect with Tanzanian farmers, whose coffee is renowned for its exceptional quality.”
To achieve this international status, Mr Kajiru noted that this year’s Tanzania Fine Coffees Competition is being organised in collaboration with the African Fine Coffees Association (AFCA).
