ALL is set for the 21 golfers to tee off at the final national team qualify competition today.
Those who qualify for the final will battle it out on the twoday 36 holes for the nine national team tickets at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) course in the city.
National golf team coach, Hassan Kadio, said in the city yesterday, that all golfers including those from Kilimanjaro and Arusha regions are in Dar es Salaam ahead of the today’s tee off.
Kadio said that they were forced to push one day from Monday to today so as to give players, especially those from upcountry, enough time to practice on the course so that to have a fair competition.
“All golfers are in good shape, we had meeting with them this morning and they went to practice there after,” he said. Kadio said he was optimist to see a stiff competition as many golfers are good players.
He said after the competition, TGU will pick a cream of nine golfers who will form the national team that pitch a residential camp for the forthcoming Zone Five Golf Challenge Trophy on Thursday.
