VIJANA City Bulls thumped Mabibo Bullet 107-73 in a one-sided RBA League match held at National Indoor Stadium on Sunday night.
Vijana led the first quarter with 25-15 and went on to lead the second quarter with hefty 30 points against 18 garnered by Mabibo. The third quarter saw Mabibo making an improvement to lead with 21 points against 20 points posted by Vijana.
Things turned worse for Mabibo in the final quarter with Vijana outplaying them with 32-19 lead. Said Khamis posted 20 points for the winners while Stephen Mshana and Antony Jeikanga, each added 19 points for Vijana.
Mabibo Bullet’s David Richard, who netted 19 points was the team’s top scorer followed by Emanuel Ndege who penned 13 points and Salum Mlake who added 12 points.
DB Lioness were too superior to youthful Ukonga Queens following their 81-55 points in the Ladies duel at the same venue Sunday night. DB Lioness dwarfed their opponents right from the first quarter with 20-8 points.
DB Lioness extended their lead to 17-9 at the second quarter, before Ukonga woke up from a slumber to lead 23-19 at the end of third quarter.
DB Lioness responded strongly in the final quarter, further sinking their opponents with 25 points against 15 points netted by Ukonga Queens. Maria Mabera, who netted 22 points and Martha Paulo who added 21 points were the top scorers for the winners.
The team’s veteran player, Amina Ahmed added 18 points for DB Lioness. Ukonga Queens scored their points through Noela Renatus who netted 15 points.
The Sunday night duel also witnessed Jogoo defeating UDSM Outsiders 83-55 at the same venue. Jogoo looked a better side right from the start and managed to stamp a 31-8 lead in the first quarter.
Jogoo consolidated their lead in the second quarter with 18 points against 13 penned by Outsiders. Jogoo also led the third quarter with 20-15 before Outsiders coming up strongly in the final quarter to post 19 points against 14 points netted by Jogoo.
Jogoo relied on Hamidu Hango who netted 25 points and Abubakary Iddi who added them 18 points. Jonas Mushi poured 12 more points for the winners.
UDSM Outsiders’ Andrew Revena who scored 12 points, was the team’s top scorer followed by Mello Revene who added 11 points and Mussa Samweli who penned 9 points.
