YOUNG Africans defender, Nadir Haroub and Azam’s Aggrey Morris have been dropped as the Zanzibar Heroes’ 30 players provisional squad was unveiled yesterday ahead of the East African Senior Challenge Cup Championship.

The Isles football governing body (ZFA) also unveiled its Women national squad also picked for the regional level tournament. Zanzibar Heroes Head Coach, Hemed Morocco said here yesterday that 30 players have been called to form Zanzibar Heroes while 20 players will join Zanzibar Queens.

He said Zanzibar Heroes will compete in the Senior Challenge Cup championship to be held later this month in Nairobi, Kenya while Zanzibar Queens’ assignment will be in Kigali, Rwanda, the venue of the regional women tournament.

Zanzibar Heroes squad include goalkeepers; Ahmed Ali “Salula” (Taifa ya Jang’ombe), Nassor Mrisho (Okapi) and Mohammed Abdulrahman “Wawesha” (JKU).

Defenders are Abdallah Haji “Ninja” (Yanga), Mohd Othman Mmanga (Polisi), Ibrahimm Mohammed “Sangula” (Jang’ombe Boys), Adeyum Saleh “Machupa” (Kagera Sugar), Haji Mwinyi Ngwali (Yanga), Abubakar Ame “Luiz” (Mlandege), Issa Haidar “Mwalala” (JKU),Abdulla Kheir “Sebo” (Azam) and Ibrahim Abdallah (Taifa ya Jang’ombe)

Midfielders: Abdul-swamad Kassim (Miembeni City), Abdul Aziz Makame (Taifa ya Jang’ombe), Mudathir Yahya (Singida United), Omar Juma “Zimbwe” (Chipukizi), Mohd Issa “Banka” (Mtibwa Sugar), Amour Suleiman “Pwina” (JKU), Mbarouk Marshed (Super Falcon), Ali Yahya (Academy Spain), Hamad Mshamata (Chuoni) and Suleiman Kassim “Seleembe” (Majimaji).

Strikers: Kassim Suleiman (Prisons), Matteo Anton (Yanga), Ali Badru (Taifa ya Jang’ombe), Feisal Salum (JKU), Salum Songoro (KVZ), Khamis Mussa “Rais” (Jang’ombe boys), Mwalimu Mohd (Jamhuri) and Ibrahim Hamad Hilika (Zimamoto) He also named the Zanzibar Queens as;
